WHAT IS POLYURETHANE?
Polyurethane is a two-component spray foam insulation material, which is a chemical combination of isocyanate and polyol. It has two types - closed and open cell foams, each one has its own properties. Nowadays, polyurethane is widely used in auto parts, building materials, shoe soles, electrical production, thermal insulation and house renovation.
Compared with others it has better thermal conductivity, it can be used outdoors and indoors for insulation works. Polyurethane foam is initially spread in liquid form, which allows reaching unreachable places such as cavities, corners, recesses of the building walls and ceiling in incredibly short time.
Foam is sprayed from a special high-pressure device and XFIXI use Graco Reactor 2 H-30 which is the latest generation hydraulic foam sprayers.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CLOSED AND OPEN CELL FOAM
The main difference between open and closed cell foam is density and thermal conductivity, both types of foam insulation are also different in their application and options.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF POLYURETHANE?
- Environmentally friendly material
Polyurethane is not toxic, does not emit harmful substances and fumes, has no adverse effects on human or animal health. At the same time it is non-allergenic: fungus, rot and parasites can’t settle.
- Thermal insulation in hard reaching places
Polyurethane covers 100% of the estimated area of insulation, it does not require adaptation or cutting and it has excellent adhesion.
- Energy efficiency
High thermal conductivity properties will guarantee the sustainability of heat in the living room; heating cost will reduce.
- Does not undergo deformation
When polyurethane is consolidated, it forms a waterproof surface which does not absorb moisture, it is resistant to vibrations and produces excellent sound isolation from outside noise. It does not its change form and always retains its original thermal insulation properties.
- Lifetime
Unlike any other insulation materials such as rock wool, glass wool and cellulose, polyurethane does not have any joints that promote constant foam form and its unique insulation properties.
- Convenient transportation, quick installation
Polyurethane foams are produced on site in the object by mixing two liquid components. The finished product is immediately embedded in your object, if the conditions are favourable, within one day we can insulate up to 400-500 m2 of the area.
- Quality guarantee
Polyurethane system and the hydraulic system is recognised in the European Union, CE marked and foam is manufactured in accordance with the highest standards of EN ISO 9001: 2000 Insulation foam guarantee from manufacturer – 35 years.
- Strengthen design of the building
It strengthens the design of the building, helps to withstand external loads, for example, ice on the roof.
WHERE CAN WE USE POLYURETHANE THERMAL INSULATION?
Foam is suitable for all types of buildings, such as private homes, industrial buildings, agricultural buildings and apartment blocks, it will guarantee the best thermal and acoustic insulation of:
- Attics
- Ceilings
- Roofs
- Walls
- Floors
- Foundations
- Basements
WORTH TO REMEMBER
A properly insulated home with a quality set of ventilation equipment will contribute healthy micro climate in your house, it will improve air quality, reduce health problems and improve wellness.
